went to six flags today for the senior trip....
we went for... 2 hours.
i wanted to scalp (sp?) my tickets so bad, and use my season pass... i dunno why i didnt, i could be like 30 bucks richer right now.
left at 9, got there at 10, got in the X line.... waited for... 2 hours.
finally got off the ride at 1:23....
we needed to be at the bus at 1....
so we sprinted to the bus. goddamn it was hot
we were the last from our busses, we didnt even get food or funnel cake.

So bored
so i went to read to kids today.
it was interesting, we got there at like 8:15, but it didnt start till like 10:15
so i coulda slept in an extra too hours.
reading to the kids wasnt actually that bad, they were pretty cooperative and stuff.
they were kinda cute too.
also, its amazing how well kids will behave for a piece of candy. hahah
anyways, after that, while leaving the school, i saw this body shop on the side of the road.
and what do i see.... a MR2->Carerra GT conversion!!
hahah, damn that was funny, how ghetto.
then we stopped to eat a yoshinoya (sp?), and i had a beef bowl, which was yummy.
on the way home, i see an steel grey E55 with black wheels, a 7 series with black wheels, a nice nsx, anddddddddddddddd........ A BLACK CARERRA GT!!!
what coincidence, i see a carerra gt conversion, then i see the real thing right after.
it was a 18-19 year old asian guy driving it.... DAMN!
and he has a white guy.... about low 20s with him. they were crusing slowwwwww

I saw a rattlesnake!
so i was at oaks canyon park (i think thats wat its called?)
and im about to leave, and i see this freaking thing in the middle of the road, and its moving.
so im like SHIT! tahts a freaking snake!
so i stop the car and get out, and i look closer, its a huge freaking rattle snake.
it was at least 2 and a half feet long...
never seen a wild snake that big before, let alone a rattle snake.
i tried poking it with a stick, but it didnt really care. haha
it was pretty fast tho

so in calc, i ALWAYS show up late.
like really late.
like, 2-5 minutes late, every class.
im not a morning person... what can i say, im always late to physics too. (my morning classes)
so on thurday i show up my usual couple minutes late, and vaughn doesnt say anything.
then jennifer pan shows up like 30 seconds after me, and vaughn goes off on her.
like "youre always late! you cant keep doing this! you know what, im assigning you a saturday school"
so she gives jennifer pan a freaking saturday school.

so, i just got it, she gives me an envelope, and im holding it and it feels pretty heavy and thick.
im like shietttt, must be a ton of cash.
i open it out, and a coin falls out. turns out she got me a gold coin.

so i act surprised and really happy. and i thank her a bunch.
she says "yeah, your mom told me that you really didnt want a watch, so i thought id get you something thatd last longer"
yah, thanks mom for giving her the "subtle" hint.
soooooooo yeah, i appretiate the gift. but im thinking, what the heck do i do with a coin?

Chinese School Scholarship
So many of us know about the CS Scholarship, every year, the graduating kids that went to TOCS write essays about their experience and submit it, and it gets printed in the yearbook, and we get a lil bit of scholarship money. A lotta my friends have done it.
So i do it this year, and i submit it, etc.
My mom tells me that now theyre gonna talk to the teachers now, cuz too many kids have submitted. WTF!
Um... how many kids could do it from my grade.... Me, Scott, Harn, Tiff Hsiao?, anyone else....? and scotts not doing it. there were more than that many people last year i believe.
Well my mom was like Julia Fong is doing it too. WHAT?!
Did she even go to chinese school? I never saw her, and if she did go, it couldnt be for more than 1 or 2 years.
I went for like 10 years!! i deserve tenure!! Anyways, my essay owned, theres no way she coulda matched it, even if she is a genius. She doesnt have the history.
I mean, damn, julia fongs probably already gotten like 200 scholarships, let me have this one you jerk!!
Heres my essay, i think its pretty good. The begining sucks tho, i couldnt figure out how to start it.
If someone were to ask me what I believed was the most influential activity that I have ever participated in, I would not hesitate to tell them. I would probably consider Chinese school to be the most significant activity that has shaped who I am today. My closest friends, and much of my knowledge and history all stem back for more than a decade to Chinese school. Chinese school and I have had quite a long history. I started attending Chinese school back in 1st grade, during the “Redwood days.” Where Brian Lu, Josh Chen, and I would “explore” the vast caverns and tunnels winding around under Redwood Middle School, all the while reading the random graffiti penned and markered on the walls. I doubt many of the current students enrolled in TOCS remember, or even know of this “forgotten history.” But I’m sure that many parents and former students still have fond memories of the time. Then, after some parking disputes, TOCS had to relocate to its current home at Thousand Oaks High School. Here, the classes of ’03, ‘04, and ‘05 terrorized the school and teachers for years. We became notorious after we ended up misbehaving so badly that we actually cracked a teacher, and sent her running out of the classroom. (If you’re reading this, I’m sorry, and I still feel bad about it sometimes.) The year after, the news started spreading that the school couldn’t find a teacher that would step up and attempt to teach us. Well, they finally did at the last minute, but what I believe happened was in the middle of the year; she took a “vacation” to Taiwan… and never came back. After that, students from my class started dropping out left and right; people get busy in high school.
Don’t get me wrong; I learned a lot of Chinese during those years, but much of that information I have already long forgotten. However, the friendships I have made at Chinese school are still going strong. I’m sure that many of you students despise having to wake up early on weekends, but the information that you’re being taught is actually very valuable. Sometimes, I really do wish that I would have studied harder in Chinese school, or at least learned enough to read more than just the basic words and numbers; and I know that many of my friends feel the same way. But if you don’t want to go Chinese school for the education, go for the experience. You’ll meet a ton of new people, make new friends, and learn some good study habits. Oh, and be sure to join the Chinese New Year Performances, even if you don’t attend Chinese School anymore. Those performances are a great way to keep in touch with friends, and they provide good memories that will last a lifetime.
